A Plastibell circumcision device is a single use plastic ring designed to safely perform infant circumcision. The device is placed over the glans and the foreskin is tied around the ring using a ligature. This restricts blood flow to the excess foreskin, allowing it to separate naturally while the ring falls off within a few days.

A deep circumferential groove ensures that the ligature can be securely tied around the foreskin and the ring. This design helps maintain proper positioning, supports effective hemostasis (control of bleeding), and ensures a clean and precise circumcision line.

Yes. Most modern Plastibell devices are sterile and latex free, which helps minimize the risk of infection and allergic reactions. Being sterile and individually packed also ensures safe clinical use during pediatric circumcision procedures.

The Plastibell device is designed as a single use plastic ring to eliminate the risk of cross-contamination between patients. Disposable devices improve infection control and ensure consistent performance in medical procedures.

After the circumcision procedure, the plastic ring typically falls off naturally within 5–7 days as the excess foreskin tissue separates. The healing process continues after the ring detaches, and no stitches are usually required.
